Silly Bunny

The only way I know to hide a piercing hole when you are not wearing an earring is to cover the hole with makeup. If you go for a long time without wearing an earring the hole will get smaller, but as soon as you put in an earring it will open the hole to the size of the post on the earring. The amount the hole will shrink and how long it will take depends on both the person and how long the ear has been pierced.

Silly bunny:

The only other possibility I can think of to hide a hole is to place it in a crease. Some people (I'm one of them) have longitudinal creases on their lobes and, when they are not wearing an earring, the crease hides the hole.

Not likely very helpful for a second or subsequent piercing, but it may help. The other possibility is clear plastic posts which are not very visible.

Hello sillybunny
I like wear earrings but i don't like visble holes. In former i wear earrings for nonpierced ears, but these were very uncomfortable. For special occasions i pierce my own ears with tapered diamond studs and remove them after a day. Piercing my own ear with this tapered stud afforts less pain to me than wear earrings for non-pierced ears.

What exactly do you mean? How do you pierce your own ears and how often? What are tapered diamond studs. You may have the solution![/quote]

It was the idea of my daughter, in the age of 13, she would get her right ear double and triple pierced. I don't allowed it, then she pushed two sharpend studs through her ear. My daughter had to remove the studs, two days later nothing was visble. Occasionally my daughter pierced her own ear with this studs again and remove them, until I allowed her a triple pierced ear. One day we were at a wedding party, my daughter wear a pair of my earrings for non pierced ears, they was very uncomfortable for her. She made a proposal to me and pierced my ears with sharpend diamond studs for the next festive occassion, after the occassion i remove the studs and 2 until 3 days later nothing was visible. Since then, for festive occasions when i will wearing earrings i pierce my own ears and remove the studs later. I pierce my own ears 4 until 8 times a year.

We did my daughter first set when she was 1 month old. Now she is 4 and I I thought she was ready for her second set. Today I took her to the the mall. When the lady pierced her first ear, she started to cry and refused to get the other ear done. Can she stay with only her right ear double pierced? How can I convince her to get and her left ear done?

P.S. Sorry for my english, but Im not a native english speaker.

Has anyone seen this picture? it's been on this forum for quite a while but I have only just seen it. She looks amazing. Is it safe to have more than one piercing done at a time?

I have just found this having put a request for advice and opinions elsewhere on the website. I have just one piercing in each ear (conventional) at the moment and have had since I was 12. My husband loves earrings on me and has nagged me on and off for years to get them pierced again. We have been married for 20 years. He recently bought a home ear piercing kit with some silver plated studs and said that he wants to pierce my left ear (only) just behind the hole that I already have. I know that I could have both done as well (should I?). He has also bought a really tiny gold stud (about 2.5mm) which he wants me to wear.

He hasn't got any earrings and I wouldn't want him to have his ears pierced although this isn't an issue.

Should I let him do it? Is it safe to use one of these kits? Is silver plating OK for piercing with? I'm very conventional and none of my friends wear more than 1 pair of earrings although they used to a long time ago. Is it still fashionable? I'm not sure...

Does anyone else have a partner who is so mad about earrings?

My wife had 1 hole per ear when we were married and I always hoped she'd get 2 per ear. I finally convinced her after years of asking and she let me pierce her left ear a second time. After 5 months, she let me do her right ear again! It was (and is) fantastic! I have since asked her to get a 3rd hole, but she says no, it's too much, but it would really be exciting! I know there must be a lot of other husbands out there that feel like I do. I like to pick out her earrings when she dresses and hate it if she doesn't wear any....

I used to pierce my own ears and take it out, years ago, but that's was for sexual thrill. I would first have them pierced professionally with a gun, take them out, then use the sharpened studs to do it again myself. I was a soldier part of the time, and couldn't were earrings to the army, so after some time I pierced two myself, kept them open by driving in an earring for time to time, and pierced several others, most I've let close.

But I was turned on by the sensation, for adornment only, if I could, I'd leave them permanently.

At 4 months old your daughter's ears are still very small. You could certainly pierce her ears once now with no problems. I would wait six months to be sure there are no problems with her first holes, then give her a second piercing in both ears shortly before her first birthday. Toddlers, rather than babys, are the ones who cry and scream when their ears are pierced, so I would hold off on a third hole until she is 4 or 5 years old. Then you can make a big deal out of the occasion.

I was sure she meant four years, not months.

Most stores and kiosks that sell earrings will pierce babys' ears as soon as they have had their first immunization shots, normally at three months old. In some areas it is quite common to see baby girls with pierced ears, particularly amongst certain ethnic groups.
