Guest - I have to say, kudos to you for being so accepting of yourself at 17. You're a lot more rational and sensible than I was at your age, not so long ago. And you are right - guys aren't exactly pretty down there, and they come in sooo many shapes and sizes!

Also with regards to your labia being pulled inside and getting hurt, this will ABSOLUTELY not happen - at least not getting hurt, anyway. Just make sure he takes the time to make you wet... as long as you're slippery then you will have no issues at all.

Thanks I never actually knew that it could be considered a 'problem' until a couple of months ago, when I saw a documentary where a woman absolutely HATED her labia and had a labiaplasty. I actually had a similar experience to some people on this thread when some of my friends were giggling about it, and I felt awful.

Then I went through a phase (of about a week, lol) of being dead set on getting a labiaplasty asap - ideally, before I went to university in October. I'd even researched different surgeons and cleared my diary to allow for recovery time! But then I looked on some legitimate medical websites, Wikipedia, and threads like this one, and it turns out that most of the people who actively favour little labia are plastic surgeons! No surprise there.

So I'm out of my anti-labia phase, and I'm glad - the way I see it, if any guy wants to remove my knickers, he must like me enough not to care too much about what's down there as long as it all works ok. And, if he runs screaming, it's his loss

I have always had big lips but never though much about it. I just figured everyone had the same thing. hi. Please can some one help me? i am a young female and i feel i have a large libia well i know i have. it is really making me dpressed as although non of my partners have commented on the size i myself feel uncomfortable exposing myself and will only do so with serious steady boyfriends. i have considered surgery however, after reading through sum of the comments post surgery doesnt sound 2 good and the results dont seem 2 good either. i really dont knw whether 2 risk it and have surgery or leave it. im worried the final result wont be wot i hoped 4 having read through some of the comments. please some one help me

Look at it this way: it's an expensive and extremely painful procedure that can't be reversed if it goes wrong and, even if it goes ok, can cause problems later on in life (with giving birth etc).

If in doubt, don't do it.

My ex wife had large lips, I had never experienced them before her, but they were amazing. After seeing them for the first time I was hooked and could not get enough of her wonderful large lips. Well, 'big' is subjective... personally I don't think that most prodtruding labia minora are 'big' at all. I think it depends upon the frame of the woman. Even on Wikipedia it says:

The coloration, size and general appearance of the labia can vary extensively from woman to woman. In some women the labia minora are almost non-existent, and in others they can be fleshy and protuberant. Usually, but not always, they are symmetrical. Some differences are purely personal, while others may be genetically linked; a striking example of the latter is the elongated labia minora of the Khoisan peoples, whose "khoikhoi aprons" can hang down up to four inches past their labia majora when they are standing.

Now, I would consider 4 inches to be large. But I'm willing to bet that most of the women who feel uncomfortable with their labia are nowhere near that size. And, even if they are, who's to say that they're 'too big'?

Obviously I can't judge your situation, but it sounds like you have a psychological hang-up about your labia. I certainly wouldn't do anything as drastic as surgery, not unless you've spent a long time being certain that you want it.

ive gotten awful curious since reading this post lately, so i measured my own labia and they hang down a lil bit over 3 inches when I am standing up. Thats if I stretch them out realyl far and then let them go back for a second. I can stretch them to bout 6 inches, whcihc makes sense because my ex-BF had a 6 inch long dick and it was really thick too 6 inches around and we used to wrap my lips around his dick during playful foreplay and we laughed a lil about being able to have eachc of my lips wrap all the way around his penis. Please anyone help me. I have large labia and i know that many other people have them but i dont think that men are very aware that they come in all shapes and sizes. Seriously I don't know what the issue is. If the guy you are going to sleep with thinks there is a problem the only problem is him. I'm a 32 year old guy who seriously does not care how big or little a girls lips are. To be honest with you my girlfriend at the moment has large lips and she is very self conscious about them, took months before she let me go down on her, she now loves having her lips sucked, biggest turn on ever so please don't let it bother you.
