Children sleeping nude

I am a single dad (wife ran off, probably with some guy) of two daughters, one is 9 and the other is 10. It was hard taking care of two kids without my wife but I got through it without too much problems. well one summer when the weather has been getting really hot out and I cant afford AC so we have fans going in every room. The girls have been complaining that it is really hot in thier rooms and I suggested that they sleep the same way I do when it is hot out, in the buff. They were uncomfortable at first but they eventually grown to love it. Now they sleep in the nude all the time. I have recieved mixed reviews about how I handled that situation. Some parents say it is okey and others call me a pervert to let my daughters sleep like that. What is your opinions?

I do not think there is anything wrong with that at all. there is nothig wrong with letting your daughter sleep nude. I dont think I ever let my daughters sleep with any cloths on.

I think telling them to sleep nude like you was not the best choice of words or phase to tell them. I believe that is what is getting you the negative opinions from other people. Personally me its fine that the kids sleep nude. They are the only ones in that room so why does it matter? As long as the shades are drawn and no one can see in.

I think its lovely because i wasnt brought up to be nude around the house and only recently have i done so and i find it so liberating so dont worry about things so long as you dont force them to do things its fine.

It seems to me all you have to worry about is the blinkered reactions of people like some of the idiots that have responded above. Do you really care what they think? Thought not.

If people have a problem with naked children, it's their problem, and boy do they have problems. Don't give them the time of day.

If its hot let them sleep whichever way is comfortable for them. Its not like you are sharing a room.

totally agree dipsy - ignore the perverts. My kids have slept nude since they were born if its very hot - its bloody common sense! I have 2 boys and 2 girls, god some folks really wind me up. I love Europe - go to Spain and u can see little kiddies running round on the beach totally naked and loving it. noone bats an eyelid. Because of a few pervs here in UK we cannot do that - its ridiculous and sad.
Simple - its hot, clothes off
