Hi I was just scanning internet for other people who have failed driving tests and i found this gem of a forum and i would like to say what happened to me. this is quite a long winded post so bear with me!
I took my test at 11.00am yesterday, i answered my show me tell me questions ok and he asked me to move off, he said turn right at the end of the road so i checked my mirrors and gave the signal, and then he said no sorry turn left so i did, he did this at least 3 times throughout the test.
He asked me to pull up along side a parked car and do my reverse park, there was a car parallel to me on the other side of the road which i thought there wasnt supposed to be but i did it anyway, and didnt hit the curb and it looked fine to me so i thought i was done.
I had to do two emergency stops even though i know that the first one was absolutely perfect.
We turned onto a busy main road and he told me to pull in just after a junction (which was almost a right angle) and to do my reverse around a corner. It was a really busy road so i had to stop a few times but i made it round the corner no problem even though the corner was so sharp i couldnt see it out of the side window, i didnt hit the curb i straightened up and it was a very narrow road but i made sure there was plenty of room on the other side of the road for another car to get passed and that i was happy with it and i was so we moved on.
Just as i was approaching the end of the test he started talking to me about what a weird time this test was and how he didnt even get time to have a cup of tea first, and that he would be on the go till 7pm at least.
I was approaching a set of traffic lights and i checked my mirrors and there was traffic but no one really close to me, the traffic lights started to turn to red so i slowed down ready to stop and he shouted at me to keep going and that someone was going to crash into me so i carried on, we then pulled up at the test centre.
He told me I had failed, apparently my angle on my reverse parallel park was too wide and that was a serious fault,( but surely if it was too wide i would have crashed into the car on the other side?)
He told me that when i reversed around the corner i was at least 2 or 3 foot away from the curb, (which i know for definate i was not as it was such a narrow road nothing would have been able to get passed on the other which i made sure it could) another serious fault
And he told me that i was going to stop on a green light at the traffic lights which i wasnt and that was a dangerous fault.
So i was gutted, but i didnt say anything until i spoke to my driving instructor and he said that the examiner was out of order, to keep changing his mind about direction, and that i was so far out from the curb, and i have never been that far out in my life, i knew he was gonna fail me as soon as he walked in the room, he was about 65 and he just didnt seem like he was bothered how i drove, i only had 2 minor faults, and to be honest i feel a bit cheated, my driving instructor is looking into to it to see if i can complain
The only thing i was nervous about for my test was roundabouts, and we didnt do any, i have been having lessons on and off since i was 19, im 27 now so i didnt rush into it!
I just wondered what you guys think, sorry for the long winded post but i had a lot to explain.
