Wearing nail polish is a personal preference. If you want to paint your nails (toes and/or fingers) then paint them. As for color, it too is a personal preference, however, most men who paint their nails wear dark colors like black.

Yeah, I've noticed that too. I think some people need to feel validated in the choices they make, particularly if those choices violate some sort of social norm. Soliciting comments like this is one way of getting that validation, I suppose.

Still, there are limits.

Ok the people who post on the forum are absolutely insane. Two seconds ago I am reading about guys who want to shave their legs and be smooth all over etc etc which is pushing it in my opinion but nail polish c'mon guys you have serious gender isssues here , guys are supposed to be guys if you want to be all smooth and wear make up get a sex change

Why does shaving body hair and wearing nail polish have to do with ones sexual orientation.

Men now wear earrings and other jewelry, so what makes the difference. There are many men out there who do not have much body hair, does this make them any less of a man than those who have a lot of body hair?

It is simply a personal choice, so if men want to shave their bodies and wear nail polish, it is their choice and no it doesn't me that they are any less of a man.

all these things are a matter of expression. Do as much of it as your self confidence/paycheck can handle.

Don't worry about the girls, Im sure if I ever decided to wear a black polish out, that it would probably help more then hurt. I think that people who would pass by someone for something so artificial a thing aren't worth the paper they are printed on. Now if you do it as an obsession, then thats different, make sure you know which one you are.

worry about your carrer, bigots will hound you in private for it, the type that blast minorities and women when they aren't around. The type that decide promotions.

In most species of animals (and humans are animals, whether we like to admit it or not) the males have the brighter coloring while the females have coloring that blends in with their surroundings to make them less conspicuous while they are tending to their young. Somewhere along the line it became fashionable for women to wear the brighter colors and for men to be less conspicuous. I can remember the days when men's dress shirts came in one color, white. There was a lot of talk when men first started wearing colored shirts with a suit and tie. Today men can wear most any color shirt and no one thinks anything about it. A generation or so ago the only jewelry a man wore was a plain watch and a wedding band. Today men can wear all kinds of jewlery including rings, neckalces, bracelets and earrings. So what is wrong with a man making his nails look nice with polish? If he likes to wear nail polish, a man should be free to do so. Telling him he cannot polish his nails is simply another form of sex discrimination.

I have been painting my toes for 4 years now. All colors! My feet look great and feel great. I'm straight too. Not only gay guys paint their toes. I like the responses. It is really acceptable all over like wearing an earring. I don't do that. I do shave my toes too. I hate the hairy toe look. Men don't have to be so native. Take care of yourself and your feet are the first things. You only have two and most guys feet are not worth showing let alone looking at! I don't paint my finger nails. That's a bit girly.

Why not? I paint my toe nails sometimes and I often wear lip gloss too.
In ancient Egypt men sometimes wore makeup, although not as much as the women did. There was a time when men only got one ear pierced and only one piercing too but these days you see men with earrings in both ears and multiple piercings.

I always keep my nails well groomed and paint them when I am not at work. My wife thought it was a bit strange but is cool about it, she wishes her nails were as nice as mine. I wish I could ware it more openly and it was more acceptable.

I have also had nice comments from a lot o women who noticed it. :
