Apologies for my first post being a rant but here goes...
I really really hate materialisitic women. And it seems a LOT of women work that way and it shows their double standards. Ask most women what their ideal man would be like and they'll include 'rich'. But if us fellas say we prefer good looks in a woman , WE get called shallow!
If you're attracted to money then there's nothing really wrong with it just as long as you acknowledge you're shallow as well. And none of this 'looks don't matter, it's all about the person' rubbish - what you mean is "it's all about the person and his bank balance"!
Yes, I have had bad experiences with money-grabbers. I know not ALL women are like that but....it seems most are. |

Well hello, cheerful!
Lol. I'm just messing with you. I agree, the double standard is pretty unfair. Ultimately it should come down to personality for both genders. As a woman, I know I wouldn't be very happy with a rich boyfriend or husband if I didn't like the person he was. I can only assume the same goes for men dating women with bad personalities. But that could only happen in a perfect world; obviously, financial status and physical attractiveness have become important factors for people in finding a partner. It just sucks that it's received differently if a woman admits to it than if a man does. |

Well I think that if people are shallow then that is fine providing they do not try and pretend that they are not or deride others for being shallow but on another criteria. Or should that be criterion.
Personally I would rather be with a women who is not conventionally beautiful who I trusted, respected and found funny then with a page three stunner with no brains and who is only interested in money.
Think to be fair though that there are as many men who only want a pretty woman on their arms as there are women who want a man with a big wallet so maybe those two categories should target each other and leave the rest of us alone. |

I am not sure if your nick says anything about where you meet your women , but regardless of where, I think you have a point.
I have also met women who has a strange double-standard for things and it has always annoyed me, not to say provoked me.
I agree with Honbuns that women are not alone in this and that maybe all would be better if these men and women met each other and, as Honbuns says, left the rest of us alone -
A lot could be said on this issue, and I think I will leave it at this. However, I may add that I feel personally insulted by some of the stupid, but oh so popular, tv-series that floods through the channels these days. They too often portray women as self-centered, whining, materialistic, gossiping and shallow shoe-mongers. We are not all like that and I feel sad that a lot of young women/girls have these characters as "heroines". So empty.
All the best,
Kathy |

I don't really care about a guys bank balance. I've never gone out with a particular rich guy and i tend to be more focused on wheither i have a good laugh and get on with a guy rather than bank balance.
I guess the idea is that rich guys spoil you and can take you out and spend alot of money on you. I tend to like it even.. well sort of. I like to spoil my men more than the other way around |
