I had a dotty little women sitting next to me who was more like the talking clock than a human being.

On the test was calm and believed i was driving to the best of my ability with the conditions around me. So i actually thought i'd passed. so did my instructor.

my 3 point turn emergency stop and corner reverse were perfect. i kept to the speed limits and used mspsl. I failed for bein too close to the car in front.

The funny thing is paying out for all these lessons and tests to do the right thing seems more of a waste of time and cash than driving without a full licence.

My pal drove his mates car for 6 months without insurance or a licence.

When he did his test he was in his mates car still with no insurance n had a dink to settle his nerves he told me after.

He passed even though he does not use mirrors or signals is more intrested in the music he plays.
He didnt even know a parrallel park is done in reverse. Not just driving forward into a spot.

He answered the show me tell me questions wrong and still passed?

Strangely enough he now drinks and drives has nearly hit 2 people on seperate occassions, nearly knocked a man off a motorbike by crossing into the wrong lane on a roundabout with out looking or a signal.

He has crashed his car into a high pavement destroying his wheel and after getting that fixed smashed into someones mini cooper smashing the axel of his car. All within 4 weeks of passing.

To top it off he jacked the car up at 3.30 a.m. pissed as a fart the other night thinking he could fix it and go for a drive.

So i wonder what the mentality really is when passing someone. Cause I always thought safety first. Maybe I should have a few drinks before my next test too.Cause being a good driver is not paying off its more like a rip off.

Unlucky is all i can say:)
I think passing your driving test has alot to do with what side of the bed your examiner got out of that morning:P
Keep going you'll get there:D

i agree u are so much better off not getting ur licence even if u get caught the fine ull get will be nothing close to what u pay for ur tests lesson insurance etc. its a a nice bonus for them failing people.

god knows what they want from you to pass im sick of their s**t and am goin to join the many illegals on the raod and if they bring in these changes to try and stop the boy racers there will no doubt be many more.

they can make u do whatever on ur test but when u pass u will do what u like anyway so whats the point

You didn't fail.

The examiners are not allowed to pass everyone no matter how well they drive. they have a 'fail' quota to fill and you were just unlucky.

One of our local examiners was caught out when the lady caught sight of his already filled in, failure sheet for her test. She wrested it off the guy and went to a solicitor to complain. She was retested (passed) and the examiner lost his job.

When I was 18, I had four tests in six months (1971) and failed them all for not looking left or right at some point. My Dad complained (i'd been driving since I was 12 for my Dads business) and I was retested and passed with a different examiner.
