Hugh Jackman has signed up to write a new comic book series with plans to transfer it to the big screen.
The Australian actor - who is no stranger to comic book adaptations, having starred as Wolverine in 'X-Men' and its upcoming spinoff 'X-Men Origins: Wolverine' - will team up with 'Eli Stone' co-creator Marc Guggenheim and Virgin Comics to create the original series entitled 'Nowhere Man'.
Hugh said: "I've had so much fun in the graphic novel world with the 'X-Men' franchise that I wanted to get even more involved. I'm excited to work with Virgin and Marc and create a compelling character and story that hopefully will also make it to the big screen."
John Palermo, a partner in production company Jackson's Seed Productions, added: "This is our first comic, and we feel the concept is transferable to other arenas, perhaps first as a videogame, and then a movie."
While the story is being kept a secret, Palermo hinted it will feature a main character similar to Will Smith's role in 'I Am Legend' - a man living in a future world where people are more concerned about their safety than their privacy.
