Johnny Depp will voice a character in a new animated film.
The 45-year-old actor - who previously starred in Tim Burton's stop-motion film 'Corpse Bride' - will reteam with 'Pirates of the Caribbean' director Gore Verbinski for his second voice-over role in 'Rango'.
The film - which tells the story of a house pet who goes on an adventure to find himself - will use advanced technology to better capture Depp's talents.
Verbinski said: "It will allow us to capture and translate every aspect of Johnny's performance, using it to drive the computer-generated character in a way that has yet to be seen in an animated feature."
The script will be penned by 'The Departed' writer John Logan.
Work begins in January next year with a release scheduled for March 2011.
