Followill Wrote Album On Painkillers....
Kings Of Leon star Caleb Followill was inspired to write the band's latest album after taking prescription painkillers following a fight with one of his brothers.
The frontman was forced onto the strong medication after a drunken brawl with his brother and fellow bandmate Nathan led to him dislocating his shoulder.
But the ensuing surgery and drugs gave the star the inspiration to pen tracks for the band's upcoming fourth album Only By The Night.
He explains, "They were pretty serious meds. The prescription said I should take a lot more than I was taking but I just couldn't do it. It was too much.
"But whenever I was taking them, I felt good. As soon as I started to come down, I was supposed to take another.
"After a while, I felt trapped. There was nothing to do and everything was kind of boring so I'd just write songs and, in the process, I really expanded my mind."
