Kym Marsh suffers from crippling panic attacks - caused by her insecurity about her looks.
The failed pop star, who is married to former 'EastEnder' Jack Ryder, says the attacks started after she gave birth to daughter Emily - before she appeared on 'Popstars' - but intensified after winning a place in Hear'Say.
She said: "I suffer when I'm driving or even just when I'm watching television."
"When you've got someone telling you every day that you're ugly, it sinks in and I thought 'Maybe I am ugly'."
Kym has been seeing celebrity hypnotherapist Paul McKenna in a bid to overcome the attacks and now claims to be on the mend.
She added to New magazine: "He was fantastic, but then there was a death in the family and they returned. I still get them today, but I can control them much better."
