Miley Cyrus is set to turn this year's (08) American Music Awards into a birthday bash by signing up to perform at the prizegiving.
The pop sensation turns 16 on the same day as the Amas (23Nov08) and many expected her to spend the day with family and friends - but she's keen to work.
She'll join Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Kanye West, Jonas Brothers, Alicia Keys, Rihanna and Taylor Swift, who are also performing at the the 36th annual Amas.
Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, is among the night's presenters.

The event will cap a big week for the teenager, who will lead the 82nd annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on 27 November (08).
