Another great incentive to embrace eco, is the fact that more and more celebs are going eco in their own way.
We have celebs fashioning jewellery out of old rubbish, clothing being recycled and worn in a different way and even using old eco-methods around their homes.
Here's our pick of some Eco-savvy celebs...
The gorgeous actress put her celebrity status to good use by creating a range of vegan shoes for Te Casan. Her vegan shoes use no animal products of any kind to manufacture the shoes.
Natalie was recently outvoted by our very own Leona Lewis, to be named as the sexiest Vegetarian celebrity 2008. Never mind Nat, your shoes are to die for! We especially like her stunning patent red Mary Janes, and pixie pumps, which cost around £150 a pop.
Alexa made some funky jewellery for MADE, who go by the slogan- For the people, By the people. MADE products are designed by influential designers, then sourced and created within disadvantaged communities across East Africa.
Alexa's range of skull jewellery is already a celeb hit, being worn by the likes of Kelly Osbourne and Fearne Cotton.
These two savvy celebs are both enjoy the benefits of line drying their clothes, rather than using a tumble dryer. Bilson has said that she prefers drying her clothes on a washing line, because it's better for the environment, and Dannii calls her washing line the ECO Tumble Dryer.
Line drying is much better for your clothes, as electric dryers emit approximately one ton of Carbon Dioxide per household, per year in the US alone, imagine what the UK's statistics are like...
Our reformed party girl has decided to give up the habit of buying new designer clothes, to make an ECO statement with her vintage threads. The actress is spotlighting recycled fashion as part of the UK’s Visa Swap campaign.
The idea is to get people to trade in their unwanted clothes and cut down on future fashion purchases, by buying second-hands clothes instead.
