In today's Daily Rap Mariah Carey top Billboard album chart, Remy Ma's sentencing postponed, A Tribe Called Quest to headline the Rock the Bells Tour and Kanye West calls off engagement.
Able to reach the highest notes in R&B it is probably understandable why Mariah Carey hit the top spot on the Billboard chart this week with her new album. Selling over 475,000 units in its first week, E=MC2 is the Divas second album released on Def Jam.
This album which features the current hit single `Touch My Body is the singers eleventh solo studio album. She pipped England's Leona Lewis for the pole position.
Bronx femcee Remy Ma who was supposed to be sentenced today after being found guilty of aggravated assault will now be sentenced on May 13th. Remy Ma is expected to face up to 3-5 years imprisonment for the shooting of a close friend last Summer as the two women argued over a stolen purse.
Remy is currently being detained on Rikers Island which played hotel to Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown up until this weekend.
The notorious Spoken Word trio, A Tribe Called Quest will be performing together again this summer to headline the Rock the Bells Tour along with Nas.
The tour which is going to be hitting up cities such as Philadelphia, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Denver will also be heading overseas to play four dates in Europe.
Also performing is Ghostface, Kidz in the Hall and Dead Prez as well as many others. The Rock the Bells Tour first started in 2003 and has included many of rap and rocks biggest performers.
The famed Chicago rapper and producer Kanye West has in agreement with his former fiancés Alexis Phifer called off their engagement.
The couple who have dated since 2002 but broke up in 2004 for a while were engaged in 2006. It has been rumored that West asked for the ring back that he bought Phifer.
