Britain's Prince Charles is set to visit a Scottish haunted castle.
The Prince of Wales - or Duke of Rothesay, as he is known in Scotland - will travel to Braemar Castle on Tuesday (30.09.08), which is said to be haunted be a number of discontented spirits.
The property was recently restored by the local village community after its owners, the Farquharsons of Invercauld, leant it to the local community on a 50-year lease.
The castle re-opened to the public in May, and the prince is visiting to witness the refurbishment first hand.
Braemar Castle has a history steeped in murder and intrigue.
John Erskine, Earl of Mar, began building the property in 1628 as a way of making of authority in the area known - his family had been repeatedly challenged by other local families, and he was determined to ensure they remained powerful.
In 1689, during attempts to re-establish the Stuart monarchy, Braemar Castle was occupied by government troops.
