Samia Smith has revealed she has managed to get her panic attacks under control by having regular yoga classes.

The 'Coronation Street' star - who plays Maria Sutherland in the soap - admits the nasty attacks used to leave her feeling exhausted, but she has now found a way to cope.

She said: "I've never really talked about it before, but I have suffered with panic attacks for years. When I've got stuff on my mind or I'm tired, it feels like an elastic band around my chest and I can't take a deep breath.

"But I do yoga six times a week now. It really helps me to relax."

Samia recently revealed she is eager to start a family with her husband Matt Smith.

She said: "Since I moved in with Matt recently I have been thinking about having a family. My niece and nephew came to stay with us, and I thought how lovely it would be to have kids of our own running around.

"I'm nesting at the moment - I'm forever baking chocolate flapjacks and lemon puffs! We do definitely want kids, but we're not going to rush into it."
