Kym Marsh has revealed being in 'Coronation Street' has made her "stronger".
The 32-year-old actress - who plays Michelle Connor in the ITV soap - says starring in the show has helped her get through her marriage split from Jack Ryder.
She said: "'Coronation Street' has given me confidence and made me stronger. I have had my fair share of bad press but I have learnt a lot along the way."
Kym - who first shot to fame with band Hear'Say after appearing on 2001 TV reality show 'Popstars' - also revealed she was concerned she was going to be labelled just another singer-turned-actress.
'Coronation Street' has given me confidence and made me stronger. I have had my fair share of bad press but I have learnt a lot along the way.
She added to Britain's OK! magazine: "I was very aware that people would say, 'Right, she thinks she can act but let's see what she can do!' Luckily people have been so supportive and given me the chance to prove myself and it has paid off"
Mother-of-two Kym added she has no intention of leaving the soap, insisting: "I've just signed another contract so I will stay until they don't want me any more!"
