David Archuleta and bartender in a past life - David Cook will face off next week in the "Idol" finale. And that 'Upstart' Syesha Mercado was shown the door.
Mercado has been among the lowest vote-getters in eight of the show’s last 10 weeks, standing next to Ryan Seacrest and a another on several occasions knowing she could have been going home, but she survived. This is a feeling that neither Cook nor Archuleta has never had to endure.
Archuleta an early favorite and David Cook proved his credentials with strong early performances. With the departure of Michael Johns and Carly Smithson the Davids have been the best hope the show has had to have a winner capable of recording and every week their appearance in the finale has looked more and more a pre planned..
The show kept all three contestants in the dark until announcing the two finalists, as such the veiwers do not know if either of the David's polled more votes than the other.
But although that may keep some suspense in the show it was predictable that the lowest vote catcher would be Syesha
Past winner Fantasia sporting red hair filled in time with a rather lame performance that if she had been in the place of Syesha would have seen the former winner eliminated.
