ITV have axed their Fiji based reality TV show Love Island.
The second series this year was won by Bianca Gascoigne and Calum Best and featured the likes of Sophie Anderton, Lee Otway and Kate Lawler alongside them.
At ITV1's season launch today, the channel's director of television Simon Shaps is quoted by the Metro as saying:"I have nothing but admiration for the people who made it, who are now doing I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! They made it beautifully.
"But I just don't think the public appetite, as evidenced by the second year numbers, was strong enough for us to bring it back for a third year. "It was a brilliantly-made show. But in the end the numbers were not strong enough."
The show joins a list of the station's other recent casualties, including It's Now or Never, Celebrity Wrestling, Fat Families, and The Real Good Life.
